updating just for the sake of updating...pitiful, I know

Although I didn't drive a Miata or drift around a parking lot, break was not all that bad. I made sweet potatoes from scratch which was quite fun. I hung with some of my gal pals that I miss terribly, and I saw Casino Royale with friends gal and otherwise. I actually really liked it, although he had a little too much fun with women if you know what I mean. Plus, it's always sad to see cars die.

One thing I didn't really do is homework (minus reading 100 pages of a book about Emily Dickinson, which really should have been 200 pages plus another book). Therefore I have several things I need to be returning to right now, and very little time to update my blog.

Ciao!

I agree about his car...that Vanquish sure didn't last too long.

    The Good:
Casino Royale was worth watching because of the introduction and seeing Bond drive a Ford.

    The Bad:
The chase sequence with the bomber was a bit far-fetched, even for a Bond film. And three Sony product placements within ten minutes puts a strain on the ol' medulla oblongota.

    The Awesome:
Seeing an Aston Martin roll for some 200 feet or so was a mighty impressive scene.

    I liked it.

You're all nuts. It was a nice, pretty car, but Vesper was much nicer and much prettier than the car. He made the right choice. And for a modern car it seemd to be lacking in saftey features, like dual and side-curtain airbags.

As a movie, it rocked. The plot was so intricate that even after a second viewing I'm not sure I have it nailed down. There was no Q and no gadgets, but that made it less hoaky and more believable. And both Bond and Vesper weren't two dimensional, they were actually human. It was good.

Too bad he turns into a cold-hearted assassin.

yeah, abram is right! and blue, what would a james bond movie be without tons of blatant product placement? geberally i hate product placement, but in bond it's part of the fun

and you actually be almost wish he didn't turn into a cold assassin at the end - that's the sign of a good action movie, when you care about the characters so much, you'd be willing to sacrifice the action for their happiness - of course things never work out that way, seeing as we must have nail guns and sinking venetian houses and all that good stuff.
