Things Gone and Past
I try to forget
I try to focus
On things here and now
I try to let go
Can I make the mess go away
Can I pretend it never happened
Can I start a new life today
A life with new beginnings?
Maybe this is right
Maybe I have found the light
But then why do I wonder
Why can’t I forget?
Am I holding on to something
That isn’t there any more

That never was there?
