splurge
Splurge is one of those delicious words. It's fun to say and fun to do. Yesterday, Kara, Jessica and I took a bike ride to Goodwill in the wonderful summer-like weather and I ended up spending sixteen entire dollars. At Goodwill, that's splurging. However I now possess three great shirts for fall/winter and a skirt that Jessica picked up and said, "Sara! This skirt looks like you!" She was right. It bonded with me instantly as soon as I tried it on.
Dear readers, I am excited to present you with an...
Extra credit opportunity for zealous readers of my blog!!!
If you desire to score some brownie points (not necessarily in the form of physical brownies, at least not until this week is over), read this poem. It is only 32 words. It will take 30 seconds to read and the same amount of time to ponder.
I can't imagine not wanting to enrich my mind. I am loving every minute of it, especially poetry class and finally getting 10/10 on anthropology quizzes.

I read that poem and am officially wondering if it was worth those 30 seconds of my life. I'm leaning towards no. ;-)
I LOVE GOODWILL! I MISS GOODWILL! And yes, that is DEFNITELY splurging. What fun.

I read the poem, and man would I dig some brownies right now...
It actually wasn't that bad, though. I usually lose interest in poetry by the second or third line, but I got all the way through this one. I like the way it says so much in so few words.

I would really dig some brownies too. Maybe one of the chicks over here could make some tonight. Brownie making skills might even help us catch some dudes.
I'm liking the idea of setting up a piggy bank ;-)
And that poem... well, it isn't Sappho. What do you find so awesome about it?

What a wasted life... Excellent poem. Short and to the point.
Do I get brownies when you come into town? =D
I've never gone Goodwill splurging.

I for one actually think that pool players are pretty cool. However, idk about the dropping out of school part. This summer my team at HP went to the pool hall several times, and one of the best players got his PhD from MIT.

I am so proud of all of you "zealous readers." I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends :-) who read the random stuff I put on my blog.
Ellie~There is Goodwill shopping in our future. Specifically, yours and mine, together. If not this break, then next one!
Charity~I think there probably are wiser ways to spend 30 seconds. But would you be doing something more productive anyway? Lol.
Ma soeur~I look forward to the day "dig" is out of your vocabulary. I shall have to find you some more stimulating poetry to inspire you.
Kara~You heard me laughing about that comment. And, well, if I have anything else to say to you I will probably just yell it out since you are only a room away :-) I love Shingle Paradise.
Jeremiah~Goodwill splurging is a wonderfully fulfilling activity. You oughta try it. The Goodwill on Michigan over by your work is pretty good. I am coming into town Mon & Tues and if I make any brownies I'll let you know.
Andrew~I hear there was a disagreement about this poem at your place last night...too bad I wasn't there to defend myself. :-P I didn't mean anything good or bad about pool players. The point was that people who purposely avoid learning lead empty, wasted lives. It's not even so much dropping out of school, because I know there are good (necessary) reasons for that, but it's the attitude of such types. Pool or something like that becomes their life and they go around saying dig, chick and dude all the time. It's a sad thing.
